About Us

WHAT MAKES CrossFit Rivershed DIFFERENT?

OUR WHY

CrossFit Rivershed is a coaching-driven fitness facility built on constantly varied functional movement, delivered at the right intensity for each athlete. Every workout is programmed in-house by the owner to ensure intentional progress, balanced development, and long-term results. Rivershed programs specifically for our community, with purpose behind every phase, progression, and session.

What sets Rivershed apart is our programming. We offer two distinct programming paths to align with your goals: a performance-driven track designed to build strength, work capacity, and competitive fitness, and an aesthetic-focused track centered on physique development and body composition. Both paths operate within the same class environment, guided by expert coaches who know how to scale, refine movement, and push athletes appropriately.

Jakob Hoover

Jakob Hoover – Coach/Owner: CrossFit Level  2

Hi! I’m Jake, head coach and co-owner of CrossFit Rivershed. I firmly believe that someone’s fitness journey begins the day they are born and follows them throughout their entire lifespan. I also believe many voices in the fitness space incorrectly label strength training for aging athletes as dangerous, when in reality it is protective. I’ve seen firsthand what quality movement and appropriate intensity can do for people well into their 60s, 70s, and even 80s: restoring a freedom to move and live better than they did decades prior.

My coaching career began in 2019 as a casual way to make some extra cash in my late teen years. Slowly, day after day, I witnessed life-changing transformations that shifted my “weekend hustle” into what now feels like a responsibility to my community: helping people feel and look better than they ever thought possible. I saw people develop confidence, both in what their bodies can do and how capable they are mentally and physically.

Because of this, I believe my greatest contribution to the family that is CrossFit Rivershed is an obsessive attention to detail in the workouts I program for our daily classes, along with a strong eye for movement corrections that not only help avoid injury, but drive real progress.

To me, CrossFit Rivershed is my vessel to help as many people as possible live life exactly as they desire; unrestricted by physical limitations they once accepted as part of their story.

Baylee Tkaczuk – Coach/Owner: CrossFit Level 1 | BSN RN | PN-L1

Hi, I’m Baylee! Coach and co-owner of CrossFit Rivershed. As both a fitness coach and a registered nurse, I truly believe the most powerful form of prevention for chronic disease isn’t found in a prescription, it’s found in the CrossFit methodology. Eat whole foods. Move functionally at appropriate intensity. And do it consistently over time. That’s where real health and longevity are built.

My journey into CrossFit is deeply personal. My mom, Julie, was a competitor, coach, and pillar of our fitness community. After finishing my collegiate gymnastics career, I felt a loss of identity. She pulled me into CrossFit, and I immediately felt the same challenge and sense of belonging I had as a gymnast.

In 2021, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Even on her hardest days, she showed up. Not always to work out, but to be surrounded by a community that lifted her up. I will never forget the way the CrossFit community rallied for her and my family.

In 2024, I lost my mom and best friend, and it became my mission to continue her legacy. Around that same time, I met Jake and found that we shared the same vision for serving others through fitness. Two separate dreams became one and CrossFit Rivershed was born.

My coaching philosophy is simple: master the foundations first. When movement quality leads, we build confidence, prevent injury, and create bodies that can handle intensity safely. Strength training done well isn’t dangerous, it’s one of the most powerful anti-aging tools we have.

To me, CrossFit Rivershed isn’t just about fitness. It’s about family, resilience, and building a community that supports long-term health for decades to come.
